Display17.3″ FHD 120Hz IPS Screen

After using MSI GF75 Gaming Laptop extensively, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with this budget gaming laptop.

One of the standout features of the GF75 is its design, which is similar to its predecessors. The hinge allows air inflow through vents at the bottom of the laptop, while the keyboard deck is slightly raised.

However, this can cause some keys to feel hollow. The laptop is sleek and easy to transport, but it can suffer from flex and heat dissipation. That being said, the cooling system helps keep the heat at bay.

The laptop weighs just 4.85 pounds, making it ideal for nomadic gamers. The red backlight on the keyboard is brilliant, and the keyboard itself features significant travel and feedback, as well as a Numpad.

The matte black touchpad is smooth and decently sized. The built-in stereo speakers are sited around the front corners, and the Nahimic 3 software lets you customize the sound setup to suit your style.

The 17.3″ display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and slim bezels. The display has an IPS level panel and a 120 Hz refresh rate, ensuring that the visuals projected during gameplay turn out with sufficient color and clarity.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Graphics is on duty with a base speed of 1410 MHz. While the graphics performance is not the biggest strength of this laptop, it meets and even surpasses basic requirements for a host of intensive tasks.

The GF75 delivers decent returns in terms of frame rates for most big titles, and is quite adept at rendering high-res details as it is at 3D simulation.

The laptop will not leave a trail of hotspots in its wake. Gaming is the first port of call for users of this laptop, and the DirectX12 support of its graphics card, the GeForce GTX 1650, enhances gaming.

It is recommended to play at native resolution and settings other than high or ultra. The laptop delivers smooth and enjoyable gaming for titles like Borderlands, the Witcher, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Metro Exodus can peak at 60 fps at High settings.

The laptop has a budget gaming laptop performance, and while the 3-cell, 51 Whr Li-Polymer battery does not perform well, it is affordable.

The laptop is suitable for budget gamers and content creators, and is decent for general use and streaming videos.

One of the key factors that sets the MSI GF75 Gaming Laptop apart from its competitors is its affordability.

For under $1000, you get a laptop that is capable of handling most big titles and intensive tasks, making it the best 17 inch gaming laptop under $1000.

Its performance in gaming and 3D simulation is quite impressive, and while it may not have the best graphics performance, it still delivers decent returns in terms of frame rates for most big titles.

Overall, I would highly recommend the MSI GF75 Gaming Laptop to anyone who is looking for an affordable gaming laptop that can handle most big titles and intensive tasks.

Its performance, design, and affordability make it an excellent choice for budget gamers and content creators.

In terms of gaming performance, the TUF Gaming F17 is ideal for less demanding games, while AAA titles may require turning down the settings.

Overall, the Asus TUF RTX 3050i gaming laptop is a good option for gaming, streaming, and video playback, especially for those who are on a tight budget.

03- HP Pavilion 17 – 17 Inch Lightweight Gaming Laptop

Specifications Description
Processor11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4,
Graphics CardSystem Integrated
RAM32GB RAM
Storage256GB PCIe SSD
Display17.3″ HD+ Anti-Glare

As someone who frequently uses laptops for both work and leisure, I appreciate the versatility and affordability of HP Pavilion 17.

First of all, the HP Pavilion 17 is noticeably lighter than most 17-inch laptops in its price range, making it easier to carry around. It also has a 1920-by-1080-pixel display that’s perfect for watching movies or playing games. The top-facing speakers are a nice touch, and the keyboard has keys that offer satisfying feedback.

While the touchpad feels smaller than normal, it doesn’t affect my overall experience with the laptop. The baseplate of the keyboard is made of plastic, but I haven’t encountered any issues with durability so far.

The laptop comes in different color variants, adding a bit of personalization to an otherwise standard design.

One of the key selling points of the HP Pavilion 17 is its price point. It’s a budget-friendly option for those who don’t want to break the bank on a high-end gaming laptop.

The test unit I received came with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and 256GB SSD, but there are options for touch screens and Intel CPUs as well.

In terms of competition, the Acer Aspire 5, Lenovo Ideapad 3 14, and Asus VivoBook 17 m712 are some of the laptops that are similarly priced. While the Asus VivoBook 17 is the most expensive among the competitors, the HP Pavilion 17 stands out in terms of performance.

The Acer Aspire 5 may be better in the GFXBench Car Chase test, but the HP Pavilion 17 performs well in the Night Raid benchmark. Plus, the HP Pavilion 17 has good battery performance, as shown by its 24-hour video loop test.

The laptop also uses standard battery settings for all devices, ensuring that the battery life is consistent across the board.

Overall, the HP Pavilion 17 is a great option for those who want a budget gaming laptop without sacrificing too much in terms of performance. While it may not be the most powerful laptop out there, it certainly holds its own against competitors in the same price range.

The combination of affordability, performance, and battery life make the HP Pavilion 17 the best 17 inch gaming laptop under 1000 in my opinion.

Specifications Description
ProcessorAMD Ryzen 5 5600H
Graphics CardNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
RAM32GB
Display7.3” FHD (1920 x 1080)
Storage1TB SSD

While the appearance of the laptop is similar to last year’s model with a dark blue primary color, the build quality is exceptional, feeling grippier and more durable than the Legion 5 Pro, despite being made entirely of plastic.

One of the standout features of the Legion 5 is its FHD screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 px in IPS and 165Hz refresh rate, which provides solid viewing angles with no backlight bleed detected on the panel.

The keyboard layout is also ideal, with the arrow keys separated from the bottom row, and the key feedback and travel are good enough, with quiet keystrokes except for the spacebar.

The backlit keyboard also has 4 zone RGB lighting, but with limited features and some light bleed.

Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card with 4GB of VRAM, the Legion 5 provides plenty of computing power for most tasks, but Ray Tracing is ruled out.

The laptop also comes with 16GB of RAM, upgradable to more, and a 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD, which has good speed and is upgradable along with the Wifi module.

The Lenovo Vantage software is preinstalled for adjusting CPU/GPU settings with Performance, Balanced, and Quiet modes, and the BIOS includes an overclock profile with low risk.

The build quality of the Lenovo Legion 5 is a standout feature, with no creaks detected in the casing, and the chassis has good flex considering the amount of plastic used.

The laptop also has a small indicator light for power on the right-hand side, and the IO is mostly on the rear of the device.

The Numpad keys are slightly smaller than the rest, but still a good compromise, and the trackpad is decent, made of plastic but smooth and tracks well, although it is smaller than some.

Overall, the Lenovo Legion 5 is a great gaming laptop that offers strong performance and good build quality, making it an excellent choice for Optishot 2.

The laptop is smooth and responsive with no lag or issues, and it is a great choice for gaming and content creation due to its good color accuracy and solid viewing angles.

The laptop’s 17.3-inch Full HD display was also a standout feature, providing ample space for multitasking and media consumption.

In terms of design, the ASUS VivoBook 17 M712 is hard and rigid, providing a sturdy platform for all my computing needs.

06-  Asus TUF Gaming F17 – Intel’s 12th Gen and AMD’s Ryzen 6000 CPUs

Specifications Description
Processor11th Gen Intel 6-Core i5-11260H(Beat i7-8850H)
Graphics CardGeForce RTX 3050
RAM16GB DDR4
Display/Screen17.3″ FHD 144Hz IPS
Storage512GB PCIe SSD

The Asus TUF Gaming F17, a budget-friendly gaming laptop that boasts a 17.3-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and entry-level CPU and GPU. After conducting my research and analysis, I must say that I was quite impressed with this laptop.

One of the standout features of the Asus TUF Gaming F17 is its 17.3-inch IPS display, which delivers a desktop-like experience and is well-suited for gaming.

While the heavy chassis feels a bit cheap, it is acceptable for its price. It’s worth noting that this laptop is not portable and is designed to be a desktop replacement.

Another unique feature of the Asus TUF Gaming F17 is that there aren’t many 17.3-inch budget gaming laptops, which means that the Asus has limited competition.

When compared to four other affordable gaming laptops for benchmark results, the Asus hangs close with Intel’s 12th Gen and AMD’s Ryzen 6000 CPUs.

The laptop can handle everyday tasks with ease when not gaming. However, it failed to run one of the two DirectX gaming simulations from UL’s 3DMark.

On key tests like Assassin’s Creed, the Asus trailed some of the other laptops, falling short of the 60fps goal. However, it’s worth noting that maximum settings are rarely the expectation for a laptop in this price range. The Assassin’s Creed medium preset was more successful.

The design of the laptop looks less impressive the closer you get. The lid and deck are made of textured plastic that imitates brushed metal but does not feel especially solid.

The laptop measures 0.92 by ‎15.7 by 10.6 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.73 pounds. The AC adapter is reasonably sized and better than the gigantic thick bricks found in some machines.

Overall, the Asus TUF Gaming F17 is a mostly stationary desktop replacement that can be moved from room to room. The laptop has a bulky chassis but a roomy 17.3-inch IPS display that delivers a more desktop-like experience. The heavy chassis has extra room for cooling, which is a plus.

In terms of performance, the Asus TUF Gaming F17 results point to all-around competence. The laptop can handle everyday tasks with ease when not gaming, making it suitable for shoestring shoppers craving a bigger screen.

The laptop’s three further benchmarks focus on the CPU, using all available cores and threads, to rate a PC’s suitability for processor-intensive workloads.

Maxon’s Cinebench R23 uses Cinema 4D to render a complex scene, Primate Labs’ Geekbench 5.4 Pro simulates popular apps ranging from PDF rendering and speech recognition to machine learning, and the open-source video transcoder HandBrake 1.4 is used to convert a 12-minute video clip from 4K to 1080p resolution.

Compared to other budget gaming laptops, the Asus TUF Gaming F17 stands out due to its large 17.3-inch display, 144Hz refresh rate, and relatively affordable price point.

While it may not have the highest performance in all areas, it offers solid all-around performance for a gaming laptop under $1000.

I consider this product to be the best 17 inch gaming laptop under 1000 because of its combination of features, affordability, and all-around competence.

PROS

  • The Asus TUF Gaming F17 boasts a 17.3-inch IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate, providing a desktop-like gaming experience.
  • Limited competition in the market for budget-friendly 17.3-inch gaming laptops, making the Asus TUF Gaming F17 a unique choice.
  • Good performance results in benchmark tests when compared to other affordable gaming laptops with Intel’s 12th Gen and AMD’s Ryzen 6000 CPUs.
  • The laptop can handle everyday tasks with ease when not gaming, making it a suitable choice for those looking for a bigger screen.
  • The heavy chassis has extra room for cooling, which is a plus for prolonged gaming sessions.
  • Relatively affordable price point compared to other gaming laptops with similar specifications.
  • Roomy 17.3-inch display provides a more immersive gaming experience.

CONS

  • The heavy chassis feels a bit cheap and is not very portable, as it is designed to be a desktop replacement.
  • The laptop fell short of the 60fps goal on key tests like Assassin’s Creed, although the medium preset was more successful.
