01- ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED – Overall Best Laptop for Watching Movies

Specifications Description
ProcessorMD Ryzen 9 5900HX
Graphics CardNVIDIA RTX 3070
Storage1TB PCIe SSD
VRAM32GB DDR4
Display16″ OLED with 100% DCI-P3

As a user of the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED Laptop, I can confidently say that it is one of the best laptops for watching movies. The main reason for this is the high-quality OLED display, which offers excellent color accuracy and contrast.

The display is factory calibrated and Pantone validated, which means that it offers approximately 100% coverage of DCI-P3 and an average Delta E of less than 2. This makes the colors on the display look incredibly vibrant and true to life.

One of the features that I particularly like about this laptop for streaming movies is its well-built design. Despite its thin profile, the laptop feels sturdy and solid in your hands.

Additionally, the laptop has a large number of ports, including a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a power barrel plug, an HDMI 2.1 port that supports up to 4K 120Hz output, and two USB 3.2 Hen 2 Type-C ports with support for display and power delivery.

This makes it easy to connect to external displays, peripherals, and storage devices.

Another feature that I appreciate is the upgradability of the laptop. The RAM and storage are easy to upgrade, which means that you can easily increase the performance of the laptop over time.

Additionally, the keyboard deck has a low-profile, full-sized keyboard with large key caps and a responsive glass-topped trackpad, which makes typing and navigating the laptop a breeze.

However, there are a few things that I dislike about this laptop.

One of the main things is that the factory profile maps to DCI-P3 instead of the native panel gamut, which means that you cannot manually adjust the display’s white point or set a target color gamut using built-in calibration.

Additionally, the AMD version does not have Thunderbolt support and suffers in performance with Premiere Pro.

Overall, the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED Laptop is a top choice for budget-conscious creators who want a sturdy, portable laptop with a high-quality display and plenty of I/O options.

Its OLED display is among the best and best calibrated displays that has been tested in a laptop. The combination of an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX and NVIDIA RTX 3070 is the sweet spot for photo editors who want high performance without sacrificing portability.

The built-in system appropriately calibrates the white point to D65, so all that is needed to take full advantage of the display is a basic profile in an application like DisplayCAL.

The Studiobook 16 strikes a great balance between raw power and usability, making it one of the author’s favorite laptops tested to date.

PROS

  • High-quality OLED display with excellent color accuracy and contrast
  • Best budget laptop for streaming movies
  • Factory calibrated and Pantone validated display, offering approximately 100% coverage of DCI-P3

  • Large number of ports including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, power barrel plug, HDMI 2.1 and two USB 3.2 Hen 2 Type-C ports with support for display and power delivery
  • Easy upgradability of RAM and storage
  • Low-profile, full-sized keyboard with large key caps and a responsive glass-topped trackpad
  • Combination of AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX and NVIDIA RTX 3070 offers high performance without sacrificing portability

02- ‎HP 17 Intel Core i5 – Full HD Budget Laptop For Watching Movies

Specifications Description
ProcessorIntel Core i5-1135G7
Graphics CardSystem Integrated
VRAM8GB
Storage256GB Intel SSD
Battery11 Hours Battery Life
Display17-inch, 1920×1080-pixel

‎HP 17 Intel Core i5 is my second best laptop for watching movies. First and foremost, the 17-inch screen is perfect for watching movies. The 1920×1080-pixel display is a rarity in this price range and the color coverage is great.

While it may not replace an HDTV, it’s still a great option for streaming 1080p video and enjoying your favorite films.

One of the things I love about this best laptop for watching movies and internet is its weight. At 4.58 pounds, it’s lighter than most 17-inch laptops in its price range, making it easy to carry around with me on the go.

The design is simple with a glossy HP logo on the lid and a bumpy crosshatch pattern on the top and bottom of the frame. It’s available in a variety of colors, so you can choose the one that best suits your style.

The keyboard is comfortable to type on and offers satisfying feedback, although some keys are half-size. The touchpad is a bit smaller than I’m used to for a 17-inch laptop, but it’s still functional.

The baseplate of the keyboard is made of plastic and gives a slight amount of flex, but it should not snap or crack during regular use.

Another great feature of this best laptop for streaming movies is its battery life. In my testing, I ran a 24-hour video loop on the device and it had an impressive 11 hours of battery life, coming in second behind the Acer Aspire 5.

This is great for when I need to use the laptop for an extended period of time without access to a power outlet.

There are a few things I dislike about the HP 17 Intel Core i5 Laptop. One is that it’s not suitable for media creation due to its HD+ resolution and Intel Iris Xe graphics card.

For photo editing, a specialized graphics card and higher screen brightness is recommended. Additionally, the maximum brightness of at least 300 nits is recommended for laptops in 2021, and this laptop falls short of that.

Overall, I highly recommend the HP 17 Intel Core i5 Laptop for anyone in need of a budget-friendly laptop that’s great for watching movies and streaming video.

Its lightweight design and impressive battery life make it a great option for anyone who needs to use it on the go. Just keep in mind that it’s not suitable for media creation and may not have the highest screen brightness.

PROS

  • 17-inch screen is perfect for watching movies
  • 1920×1080-pixel display is a rarity in this price range and the color coverage is great
  • Lightweight at 4.58 pounds, making it easy to carry around
  • Available in a variety of colors
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
  • Good battery life of 11 hours
  • Budget-friendly option for watching movies and streaming video

CONS

  • Not suitable for media creation due to its HD+ resolution and Intel Iris Xe graphics card
  • Maximum brightness falls short of the recommended 300 nits for laptops in 2024.

03- Dell XPS 15 7590 – Incredible Screen Resolution For Watching Movies

Specifications Description
ProcessorIntel Core i7-9750H
Graphics CardNVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5
VRAM16GB
Storage512 GB SSD
Display4K UHD Touch Screen

I have been using the Dell XPS 15 7590 laptop for a while now, and I can confidently say that it is one of the best laptops for watching movies.

The reason why it is so good for movies is the incredible screen. The screen is incredibly vibrant and offers great contrast and color coverage, with Dell claiming 100% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space and a screen brightness of 500 nits.

This means that the colors in the movies will be very accurate and you will be able to see all the details in the dark scenes.

One of the features I really like about this best laptop for streaming videos & movies is its solid design. It has a premium feel and a smooth touchpad, which makes it comfortable to use.

However, I do wish that the keys on the keyboard felt a bit more high quality, as they feel a bit plasticky for the price of the laptop.

Another feature that I appreciate is the webcam, which has been moved back to the top bezel. This is a positive change as it makes it much more convenient to use.

The XPS 15 also has a great battery life, with more than 14 hours of battery, which is useful for extended time off the charger, especially for a laptop with a 4K screen.

In terms of performance, the XPS 15 excels in the PCMark 10 test, posting the highest score of any system, and showing its ability to handle daily tasks and multitasking.

The XPS 15’s storage is also fast, but all of the laptops tested had quick SSDs with similar results.

In comparison to other laptops in its class, the XPS 15 is a jack-of-all-trades laptop that can do everything well in lieu of a full-size desktop.

It rivals the Microsoft Surface Book 2 and the 2019 MacBook Pro on the Apple side, but it is less expensive than the latter. The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 Black Edition is a less expensive $1,499 option in a different form factor.

The HP Spectre x360 15 and Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model are also flagship OLED laptops, but the latter is a true gaming system.

Overall, I would highly recommend this best 4k laptop for watching movies for anyone looking for a laptop that can handle a variety of tasks, but is especially great for watching movies.

The screen is fantastic, and the design and performance are top-notch. The only downside is the keyboard, which could be improved.

PROS

  • Incredible screen with vibrant colors and great contrast and color coverage.
  • Solid design with premium feel and smooth touchpad.
  • Conveniently placed webcam.
  • Excellent performance with high scores on PCMark 10 test.
  • Great battery life with over 14 hours of battery.
  • Less expensive than competitors like the 2019 MacBook Pro.
  • Fast storage with quick SSDs.

CONS

  • Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 Black Edition is a less expensive option in a different form factor.
  • Keyboard could be improved with higher quality keys.

04- HP 15 Pavilion Premium

Specifications Description
ProcessorAMD Athlon N3050
Graphics CardIntegrated AMD
VRAM16GB
Display1920 x 1080 FHD
Storage1TB SSD
BatteryAverage, lasting 5 hours and 44 minutes

The model I reviewed had high-spec hardware including 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, a touch-screen 15.3-inch FHD display, and a 4th-gen AMD Ryzen 7 processor. These features make for a smooth and seamless movie-watching experience.

One of the features I love about this best laptop for web browsing and watching movies is its sleek and slim design. The HP Pavilion 15 fits into the Ultrabook category, but it is not as extreme in terms of thinness and lightness as some other Ultrabooks.

The screen is thin but protected by a black rim around the edges, and the base has clever angles that hide its slightly bulbous belly.

Another feature I appreciate is the decent amount of port provision. The laptop has USB Type-A sockets, a multi-function Type-C connector, a full-size HDMI output, and a built-in microSD reader. This makes it fully useful for a variety of tasks.

However, there are also some aspects of the HP Pavilion 15 that I dislike. The battery life is a major disappointment, lasting only around 8 hours for work and 6 hours for movie testing.

Additionally, the keyboard does not have backlighting and the speakers are down-firing which is not ideal.

The HP Pavilion 15’s display is decent but unspectacular, with a resolution of 1,920×1,080 and a highly reflective IPS panel. The touchscreen may also be prone to fingerprints.

The integrated graphics are not suitable for 3D work or gaming, but are good enough for most uses.

Overall, the HP Pavilion 15 is a well-designed and powerful laptop with a decent webcam and full-sized keyboard, making it a great fit for work on a budget. It offers a lot of features for the price including fast storage, RAM, a large display, and a fast processor.

The battery life and speaker quality may be drawbacks, but for movie-watching, this laptop is a great option.

PROS

  • High-spec hardware including 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for a smooth and seamless movie-watching experience.
  • Sleek and slim design that fits into the Ultrabook category.
  • Decent amount of port provision including USB Type-A sockets, a multi-function Type-C connector, a full-size HDMI output, and a built-in microSD reader.
  • Good webcam and full-sized keyboard for work on a budget.
  • Fast storage, RAM, a large 15.3-inch FHD display, and a fast 4th-gen AMD Ryzen 7 processor.
  • Affordable price for the features offered.
  • Decent display for most uses.

CONS

  • Battery life is a major disappointment, lasting only around 8 hours for work and 6 hours for movie testing.
  • Keyboard does not have backlighting and the speakers are down-firing which is not ideal.

05- Lenovo Flex 14 2-in-1 – Convertible Laptop for Movies and Netflix

Specifications Description
ProcessorAMD Ryzen 5 3500U
Graphics CardSystem Integrated
VRAM12GB DDR4
Display14 Inch FHD Touchscreen
Storage256GB NVMe SSD

As someone who frequently works from home and enjoys watching movies on the go, I was in the market for a 2-in-1 laptop that could handle both my professional and personal needs.

After some research, I decided to give the Lenovo Flex 14 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop a try.

I have been very pleased with my decision to purchase this best laptop for watching movies online. One of the things I appreciate most about the Flex 5 is its simple and stylish design, with a charcoal grey metal coating on the front and the Lenovo logo inlaid on the top-right corner.

The hinge is also a good compromise between sturdy and flexible, making it easy to open and convert into tablet mode while also holding firm in tent mode. The laptop is lightweight and portable, making it easy to fit in a backpack or purse.

One of the features that I particularly like about this best laptop to watch Netflix is its long battery life. In the Laptop Mag battery test, the Flex 5 lasted 14 hours and 16 minutes, which is quite impressive.

Additionally, the laptop has improved cooling, which addresses some of the issues that previous versions had with overheating.

However, there are also some features that I dislike about this laptop. For example, the display is dull and dim, with a brightness that only reaches 200 nits, which is dim compared to the mainstream laptop average of 290 nits.

Additionally, the display only covers 45% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is less than the mainstream average of 68.9%. The touchscreen is responsive and intuitive, but a pen was not included with the device.

Despite these drawbacks, I still believe that the Lenovo Flex 14 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop is the best laptop for watching movies.

The 14-inch display may not have the best resolution or color accuracy, but it is still a decent display that is perfect for streaming movies. Additionally, the laptop’s lightweight and portable design makes it easy to take with you on the go.

In conclusion, the Lenovo Flex 14 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop is a great option for those looking for a high-performing 2-in-1 laptop that is priced under $1,000.

It offers a good balance of performance and budget, and is perfect for at-home professionals and students. The long battery life and improved cooling make it an ideal laptop for watching movies on the go.

PROS

  • Simple and stylish design
  • Good hinge that is sturdy and flexible
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Long battery life (14 hours and 16 minutes)
  • Improved cooling
  • Good for at-home professionals and students
  • Perfect for watching movies on the go

CONS

  • Display only covers 45% of the DCI-P3 color gamut
  • Pen not included with the device.

06- Acer Aspire 5 Slim – 1080p High & Sharp Resolution for Movies

Specifications Description
ProcessorAMD Ryzen 3 3200U
Graphics CardVega 3
VRAM4GB DDR4
Display/Screen15.6 inches Full HD IPS
Storage128 GB SSD

I personally have had a great experience with the Acer Aspire 5 slim laptop. As someone who loves to watch movies on my laptop, I can confidently say that this laptop is perfect for that purpose.

The 14-inch display has a 1080p resolution, which is great for crisp and sharp text, and it has a strong contrast ratio of up to 1300:1 and good brightness at 290 nits, making it usable in nearly all indoor lighting.

The matte coat on the display also helps to reduce glare, making it perfect for watching movies in a dimly lit room.

One of the features I really like about this laptop is its sleek and durable design. The silver and black trim gives it a professional look and the .71 inches thickness and 3.75 pounds weight make it easy to slip into most laptop bags and light enough to forget it is being carried.

However, there are a few things I dislike about the laptop. The color gamut is limited and the color accuracy is mediocre, which can make the display appear less vibrant.

Additionally, the laptop performed poorly on productivity benchmarks and struggled with video encoding, which may not be ideal for heavy users.

Another downside is the battery life, which only lasts for six to seven hours. This is enough for most cross-country flights and more than adequate for use at a local coffee shop, but not enough for a full eight-hour work day.

Overall, I think the Acer Aspire 5 slim laptop is a great option for budget buyers looking for a laptop primarily for watching movies.

The display is perfect for that purpose, and the sleek design and portability are also great features. However, it may not be the best option for heavy users or those who need a longer battery life.

PROS

  • The 14-inch display has a 1080p resolution, which is great for crisp and sharp text.
  • The contrast ratio of up to 1300:1 and good brightness at 290 nits, making it usable in nearly all indoor lighting.
  • The matte coat on the display helps to reduce glare, making it perfect for watching movies in a dimly lit room.
  • The sleek and durable design with silver and black trim gives it a professional look.
  • The .71 inches thickness and 3.75 pounds weight make it easy to slip into most laptop bags and light enough to forget it is being carried.
  • The laptop is a great option for budget buyers looking for a laptop primarily for watching movies.
  • The display is perfect for that purpose and the sleek design and portability are also great features.

CONS

  • The color gamut is limited and the color accuracy is mediocre, which can make the display appear less vibrant.
  • The laptop performed poorly on productivity benchmarks and struggled with video encoding, which may not be ideal for heavy users.

07- Apple Macbook Air 13 Inch

Specifications Description
ProcessorCore i5
Graphics CardApple Integrated
VRAM8GB
Display/Screen13 inch UHD
Storage128GB SSD

The design of Apple Macbook Air 13 Inch is sleek and modern, with a sturdy build and a lightweight feel. It comes in three color options: Space Gray, Gold, and Silver, so you can choose the one that best suits your style.

One of the standout features of this laptop is the improved keyboard, which now has the new Magic Keyboard.

The typing experience is much better and the Touch ID sensor for fingerprint login is a great addition. The physical escape button on the keyboard is also a nice touch.

The display is a 13.3-inch Retina Display with a resolution of 2,560 by 1,600 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is higher than most mainstream laptops but still lower than 4K.

The display looks great, but the bezels are not as slim as some competing elite Windows laptops. However, it does have Apple’s True Tone technology, which is a great feature for watching movies.

The overall user experience is pleasant, with quick application and browser performance and a comfortable touchpad and keyboard. The Big Sur macOS upgrade improves the experience even further.

The laptop is quiet because it does not have an active cooling fan. The MacBook Air includes a front-facing 720p webcam and support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth.

One downside to the MacBook Air is that it only has two USB Type-C ports and a headphone jack for physical connections. Additionally, the M1 chip is the focus of this review and benchmark tests were conducted on it.

Currently, only Apple’s first-party programs and a few third-party applications run natively on the M1, with many others running through an emulation layer called Rosetta 2.

This includes big-name software like Adobe’s Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, but these will be updated to run natively on the M1 in the future.

The battery life on the MacBook Air is exceptional, lasting 29 hours and 1 minute on a battery rundown test. Improvements and efficiencies made possible by the M1 chip have boosted the battery life even further.

This is the third-longest battery life seen firsthand during a review, behind the Asus ExpertBook B9450 and the Lenovo Flex 5G.

Overall, the MacBook Air is a great laptop for watching movies. The display is great, the user experience is pleasant, and the battery life is exceptional.

The keyboard and touchpad are also great. The only downside is the limited physical connections and the M1 chip’s limited compatibility with third-party applications.

PROS

  • Sleek and modern design with a sturdy build and lightweight feel.
  • Three color options: Space Gray, Gold, and Silver.
  • Improved keyboard with the new Magic Keyboard and Touch ID sensor for fingerprint login.
  • 13.3-inch Retina Display with a resolution of 2,560 by 1,600 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio.
  • Comfortable touchpad and keyboard.
  • Big Sur macOS upgrade improves the overall user experience.
  • Quiet operation with no active cooling fan.
  • Front-facing 720p webcam and support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth.
  • Exceptional battery life, lasting 29 hours and 1 minute on a battery rundown test.
  • Great for watching movies with Apple’s True Tone technology.

CONS

  • Limited physical connections with only two USB Type-C ports and a headphone jack.
  • M1 chip’s limited compatibility with third-party applications, requiring emulation with Rosetta 2 for some.

08- Apple Macbook M1 Pro 16 inch – XDR Display for Clear Results

Specifications Description
ProcessorM1 Pro chip with 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU
Graphics CardApple Integrated
VRAM16GB
Display/Screen16-inch
Storage1 TB SSD

As someone who has been using the Apple Macbook M1 pro 16 inch laptop for a while now, I can confidently say that it is the best laptop for watching movies. The new XDR display is truly a game changer.

The resolution of 3456×2234 and a pixel density of 254 ppi provides sharp and clear results for regular viewing distance. The screen is also capable of hitting 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness and 1,000 nits of fullscreen brightness with HDR content.

The local dimming feature is also excellent, which means black tones can be truly black. The 120Hz refresh rate is also a nice touch, but not many apps currently trigger it.

The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that power this laptop are incredibly powerful and efficient. The version I tested featured a 10-core CPU, 32GB of RAM, and 16-core GPU, which is the maximum spec of the M1 Pro.

The chip has built-in hardware accelerations and low power draw rates, allowing for intensive apps to run on battery without significant performance drop.

The machine can handle tasks such as editing 8K video in Final Cut Pro, opening a Logic Pro project with 1500 instruments, and running Cinema 4D scenes on battery without significant heat or noise.

However, there are some limitations to this laptop. Gaming and software compatibility are still an issue, as many high-end games and apps may not run as optimally as they should.

Non-native apps run through a translation layer called Rosetta 2, which may have an impact on performance, and compatibility issues may arise with plugins.

Additionally, the new notch for the camera that splits the Menu bar can be a bit of a nuisance, especially when custom Menu bar tools are added to the right side.

Overall, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is geared towards specialized usage cases for macOS-bound content professionals for whom processing times are money.

The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips are powerful enough to challenge Nvidia’s highest-end cards even when running on battery.

The new MacBook Pro has the highest battery life of any Mac laptop so far, with an estimated 14 hours of web browsing from a charge, but it can potentially last up to 17 hours for basic online work.

If you’re looking for a powerful and efficient laptop with a truly amazing display for watching movies, the Apple Macbook M1 pro 16 inch is definitely worth considering.

PROS

  • The XDR display provides sharp and clear results for regular viewing distance.
  • The screen is capable of hitting high levels of peak HDR brightness and fullscreen brightness with HDR content.
  • The local dimming feature is excellent, resulting in truly black tones.
  • The 120Hz refresh rate is a nice touch, but not many apps currently trigger it.
  • The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that power the laptop are incredibly powerful and efficient.
  • The laptop can handle tasks such as editing 8K video and running Cinema 4D scenes on battery without significant heat or noise.
  • The battery life is the highest of any Mac laptop so far, with an estimated 14 hours of web browsing from a charge, but it can potentially last up to 17 hours for basic online work.

CONS

  • Gaming and software compatibility are still an issue, as many high-end games and apps may not run as optimally as they should.
  • Non-native apps run through a translation layer called Rosetta 2, which may have an impact on performance and compatibility issues may arise with plugins.

09- Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 – True to Life Colors and Display for Movies

Specifications Description
ProcessorIntel Core i7-7500U
Graphics CardNVIDIA GeForce 940MX 2GB
VRAM16GB DDR4
Display/ScreenFull HD IPS 17.3″ Touch Screen
Storage512GB SSD

Dell approached me with the opportunity to test and write about their Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 laptops.

While the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 Black Edition (7506) has a premium metal chassis with a nice finish, it may not be the best option for those looking to use their device primarily for tasks such as streaming and watching movies.

One of the laptops that I highly recommend for media consumption is the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop. This laptop is best for watching movies because of its stunning display.

The 16-inch display offers true-to-life colors and deep blacks, making for an immersive viewing experience. The 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification ensure that every detail is captured in stunning clarity.

Another feature that I love about the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop is its powerful specs.

It is equipped with an Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics card, making it a powerful device that can handle even the most demanding tasks.

This means that it can handle multiple programs and applications running at once, making it perfect for professionals and creatives.

The laptop also has a decent selection of ports, including a Thunderbolt 4 port that allows for USB-C charging. However, the charging speed is slower than via the power port.

Additionally, the laptop has fast charging, Wi-Fi 6, and speakers with Waves MaxxAudio Pro software, but the sound quality could be better.

One of the features that I dislike about this laptop is its weight. It is slightly bigger and thinner than the HP Spectre x360 15, but also slightly heavier at 4.20 lbs. This can make it uncomfortable to carry around for long periods of time.

Overall, the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop is a great choice for those looking for a powerful device with a stunning display for media consumption. While it may be on the heavier side, its powerful specs and stunning display make it well worth it.

PROS

  • Premium metal chassis with a nice finish on the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 Black Edition (7506).
  • Stunning display on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop for true-to-life colors and deep blacks.
  • 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification for stunning clarity on the display.
  • Powerful specs on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop with an Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics card.
  • Decent selection of ports, including a Thunderbolt 4 port for USB-C charging on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop.
  • Fast charging and Wi-Fi 6 on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop.
  • Perfect for professionals and creatives with the ability to handle multiple programs and applications running at once on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop.

CONS

  • The charging speed on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop is slower when using the Thunderbolt 4 port compared to the power port.
  • The sound quality on the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 Laptop could be better despite the speakers with Waves MaxxAudio Pro software.

Buying Guide: Best Laptop For Watching Movies

When it comes to buying a laptop for watching movies, there are several factors that I consider to ensure I get the best viewing experience.

From the display to the storage capacity and connectivity options, I make sure to take into account all the necessary features that will enhance my movie-watching experience.

Display

First and foremost, the display is an essential factor to consider. I look for a large screen size, ideally between 12 to 17 inches, to see the contents efficiently.

The resolution should also be at least 1080 pixels to ensure a sharp and accurate image display. An anti-glare screen and wide viewing angle are also important to minimize eye strain.

An IPS panel is ideal for laptops for watching movies as it provides accurate color calibration and a wide viewing angle.

Storage

Storage is another crucial aspect when it comes to watching movies. Movies and related media files take up a lot of space, and I need a laptop with a large storage capacity to store these files.

I recommend a 256GB SSD, but if I have many movies, I may need to upgrade to a 500GB HDD or even a 1TB HDD. SSD storage is preferable over HDD as it allows me to quickly retrieve my media files whenever I need them.

Speakers

The speakers on a laptop are also important when watching movies. Quality sound enhances my movie-watching experience, making it more realistic and enjoyable.

I look for laptops with powerful inbuilt speakers, and Apple laptops are known for their excellent speaker quality.

Processor

A good processor is also essential when watching movies. I don’t need the most powerful CPU, but a good processor lets me have an uninterrupted performance and facilitates the smooth running of the PC. An Intel Core I series processor or AMD A-series processors are ideal for this purpose.

RAM

I don’t need a lot of RAM when watching movies, but I still need a large RAM capacity to watch movies and run other functions effectively without lag.

An 8GB RAM should be enough for my movie-watching needs, but if I intend to use my new laptop for the next two years, I’ll need 16GB RAM.

Ports

Ports are also important when watching movies. I sometimes need to connect an external hard drive to transfer my movies and other media files, and I also need to connect the laptop to an external display.

Therefore, the best laptop for watching movies should have rich port connectivity, including HDMI and USB ports.

Portability

Portability is also a factor to consider. I have no environmental limits when watching my movies, and I can watch from inside the house or choose to move outside.

To facilitate easy movements, the laptop needs to be portable, so I recommend a thin and lightweight laptop for watching movies. The best laptop for watching movies should weigh no more than 4.4 lbs and feature an ultra-thin design that efficiently fits my travel bag.

Connectivity

Connectivity is also essential for watching movies. The best laptop for watching movies should have good connectivity options, and I recommend the latest wireless AC technology for an enhanced experience.

The laptop should be compatible with Bluetooth technology and support a wireless WiFi connection to connect to the internet, which allows me to stream HD movies.

Battery Life

Battery life is also an important aspect to consider when buying a laptop for watching movies. Many movies last between one to two hours, and it’s essential to invest in a laptop with a good battery life that lets me watch movies for long sessions without recharging.

The ideal laptop for watching movies should have at least a six-cell battery with up to four or five hours of battery life.

GPU

Lastly, the GPU is also an important factor to consider. I don’t need the most dedicated graphics card to watch movies, but I should have a good GPU that lets my movies have a smooth playback.
